L’oreal has released a summer collection, Miss Candy, that consists entirely of limited edition products. I’ve already swatched and reviewed six of the “gellie” (jelly) nail polishes, and today I found a display that had all four of the LE infallible eyeshadows – and I was so excited to find them that I bought them all! Picture heavy post ahead.
This is the display that has all the products – nail polishes, nail stickers, lip glosses, and eyeshadows:
L’oreal’s infallible eyeshadows are one of my favorite eyeshadow formulas, high or low end. I especially like the ones with a shimmery (but not sparkling) formula – they seem the smoothest and the most pigmented. I found that these four eyeshadows seemed a little more loosely packed than the others I own, but it didn’t affect performance.
Strawberry Blonde is an almost transparent base with flecks of pink iridescence. It looks similar swatched dry (with a finger; no primer) and swatched with a damp brush. It really shines over black.
With A Twist is very purple in the pot, but swatches more pinky-purple. Dry, it has a lot of sparkle and low pigmentation. It still isn’t opaque when applied damp, but has more color.
Dive Right In is also sheer when dry and more pigmented when damp, but it’s more shimmery (instead of sparkly).
Cherie Merie is definitely my favorite of the bunch – it has the exceptional quality that makes me love the Infallible line! It’s smooth and very pigmented when dry; there’s really no reason to even use it damp. I would characterize it as a low-shimmer.
Here are all the shades together – all are swatched dry without primer (with a fingertip).
And blurred to show the different finishes:
Overall, I would recommend Cherie Merie for sure – the quality is fantastic. As for the others, they may or may not be worth it to you depending on your personal tastes. Just be aware that they are on the sheer side!
