I was suprised to realize that I own 15 concealers and three concealer palettes (the two L’oreal True Match concealer crayons – [review // $8.99 at Ulta] are not pictured below because they live in my desk at work; swatches are in my original review). Here’s a roundup – I’ll start with a description of each concealer, organized by type, with all swatches at the bottom.

Light/Medium Foundation Swatches

 foundations

I know it can be very helpful to see side-by-side comparisons of a foundation that you know matches, and a foundation you’d like to try, so today I have swatches of all the foundations I have, including foundation samples.

Foundation Swatches - Kevyn Aucoin SX04, MUFE 115, MUFE 120, Guerlain 02, Guerlain 03, Armani 5

With flash: Kevyn Aucoin SX04, MUFE 115, MUFE 120, Guerlain 02, Guerlain 03, Armani 5

Natural light – Kevyn Aucoin SX04, MUFE 115, MUFE 120, Guerlain 02, Guerlain 03, Armani 5

The first six foundations I swatched were:

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX04: this looks very yellow, but actually works well on me. My full review is here.

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 115 & 120: 120 is a good match most of the year, but during the depths of winter I mix both shades together to get an appropriate match.

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau in 02 Beige Clair & 03 Beige Natural: – I love the finish of this one, and have a bottle of 02, but have recently decided it’s a little too pinky-peachy for me. My full review is here. (I have a sample of 03 because it seemed close enough in the store that I wanted to try both 02 and 03 at home;  I guess Sephora store lighting really is that bad.)

Armani Maestro Fusion in 5. This really is an excellent match, but it’s too drying for me to wear in the winter. Perfect for summer! My full review is here.

Foundation Swatches: Laura Mercier Bisque, Becca Camel, YSL B30, Illamasqua 6.5, Revlon Sand Beige, Wet n Wild Light-Medium

Foundation Swatches: Laura Mercier Bisque, Becca Camel, YSL B30, Illamasqua 6.5, Revlon Sand Beige, Wet n Wild Light-Medium

Natural light: Laura Mercier Bisque, Becca Camel, YSL B30, Illamasqua 6.5, Revlon Sand Beige, Wet n Wild Light

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Bisque: This looks very dark and olive in the swatch, but is actually a great match when I’m at my darkest in summer (I do wear sunscreen, I promise!).

Becca Luminous Skin Colour in Camel: I just got a sample of this yesterday, but it seems like a good match, and I’m excited to try it!

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat in Beige 30: I also just picked up this sample – review coming soonish!

Illamasqua Skin Base in 6.5: This is a nice foundation, but I think this might have broken me out, so I’m a bit scared of trying it again. I’ve heard many good things about it though! 6 might be a better match for me.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Sand Beige: I bought this because I’ve heard it’s such a great drugstore foundation, but I’ve never really given it a chance – I really should!

Wet n Wild Cover All Cream Foundation in Light: I was really surprised by just how nice this foundation is! My full review is here.

Foundation Swatches: Armani 7, MAC C3, MAC N3

With Flash: Armani 7, MAC C3, MAC N3

Foundation Swatches: Armani 7, MAC C3, MAC N3

Natural light: Armani 7, MAC C3, MAC N3

Armani Luminous Silk in 7: I got a small mini tube of this as part of a GWP, and unfortunately it is too dark for me to use – really a pity, because I’ve heard great things about this foundation!

MAC Face & Body C3 & N3: I’ve also heard great things about Face & Body, so I went to MAC to get a sample.  I was matched as needing to mix C3 & N3, so I came home with samples of both.  The foundation is nice, but a bit too sheer for my tastes – I prefer something with a little more coverage, since it’s easier to sheer out a foundation with moisturizer than to build it up.

I hope this post was helpful for those of you with skintones similar to mine! I’m thinking about swatching all of my concealers too; let me know if you’d be interested in that!
