Wet n Wild Fergie Rose Champagne Glow Highlighter Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palette

Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection To Reflect Shimmer Palette

One of the new Wet n Wild / Fergie Centerstage Collection items is the To Reflect Shimmer Palette, which comes in three shades – Carnaval in Rio, Rose Golden Goddess, and Rose Champagne Glow (which I purchased).   [Swatched of all three are in this post.]

Per G. over at Nouveau Cheap, they are blush, bronzer, or highlighter, depending on your skintone, and can be used wet or dry.  I swatched it wet, and the area of the highlighter that got wet looks slightly different now, but is still useable – it didn’t seal the product.

First, note that this is fairly large product – 11.3g (a MAC blush is 6g, a MAC MSF is 10g).  The packaging is fairly compact and very functional, though (unlike most Wet n Wild products), it is not shrinkwrapped – so be careful to ensure that the one you buy hasn’t been tested!).

The veining in this is very lovely – it’s a really pretty product in the pan.  From the texture, it appears that it is a pressed product, not a baked product (which makes zero difference to me – I just note it because I’m sure some will compare these to MAC MSFs, which are baked).

The texture of the powder is smooth and blendable, but I wouldn’t describe it as silky.  It’s very nice for a drugstore product, but doesn’t quite match up to some of the high end highlighters I have.

As you can see, the color of this is a lovely rose gold. These may be multipurpose products, but I think this particular shade is going to be a highlighter on everyone.  I’m not sure if you can tell from the swatches, but the highlighter has both shimmer/sheen and very, very small flecks of sparkle.  Personally, I prefer to highlight with products that just have the shimmer/sheen and don’t have flecks of sparkle, but that’s just my choice – you might prefer something like this! Still, I love the color of this, so I may end up using it as the world’s largest eyeshadow.

Overall, I think this is worth checking out, especially if you like your highlighters on the more shimmery / sparkly side.  If you prefer a more sheeny highlighter, you might want to skip this one.

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Primer Review, Swatches, Photos

The final product (for now) in my new Wet n Wild 2013 / Fergie Centerstage product extravaganza is the Fergie eye primer (which you can now buy online). I’ve actually had a chance to test this out some, so this will be a review, though I will be sure to update it if my thoughts change after using it more.  My tube is labeled with the shade name “For My Primas” – I’m not sure if there are multiple shades available.

First, note that this – like most eye primers – does separate some in the tube (I always have this problem with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and it’s the primary reason I stopped using it). You can massage the tube to try and get it to mix back together, but I usually just squeeze out a little until the consistency is better.  The Fergie eye primer had a little bit of separation at the beginning of the tube, but only a little.

The texture of the Fergie eye primer is very familiar – it’s basically the same as all the eye primers I’ve tried, with perhaps a touch more silicone-y of a feel.  It’s very blendable, and disappears completely once blended in.

Here is the sheer purple shade from the Fergie eyeshadow palette I purchased. On the left is several (about 4) swipes without primer, on the right is 2-3 swipes over the Fergie primer.

As you can see, the primer does a nice job intensifying color.  I wore the primer yesterday, and I didn’t have any problems with creasing or fading; I will continue to test it out over the next few weeks, and update this post if anything changes.

I also have a photo of the ingredients for those with sensitivities:

Overall, this eyeshadow primer seems like a fantastic affordable option (it was $5.49 at my Walgreens).  It does a good job intensifying color, and seems to wear well on me (though I don’t have oily lids).  I’m really happy to see more drugstore brands offering eyeshadow primers!

Wet n Wild Fergie Dutchess Lounge Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches, Photos

I love Wet n Wild’s eyeshadows, so I was very excited when I heard that they were adding some Fergie collaboration eyeshadow palettes to the line, and even more excited when I spotted them in store! I had a hard time deciding which one to buy first; I ended up going with Dutchess Lounge (you can see photos of the others here; & you can buy them online here).

The packaging of these is okay – it’s a bit prettier than the standard Wet n Wild packaging, but less depotting-friendly (since the eyeshadows aren’t rectangles).  It’s sturdy and functional though, and that’s really all I ask at this price point.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed when I swatched this palette. As you can see, the silver (left) and the purple (right) are quite sheer – both swatches are several swipes.  The second shade had okay pigmentation, but it wasn’t great; the next two black based shades do have good pigmentation.

I’m quite disappointed in this palette – it’s fairly typical for a drugstore eyeshadow palette in my experience, but I have come to expect better from Wet n Wild! I will be buying another of the Fergie eyeshadow palettes to see if this is an outlier, or if they all are sub-par. (Review of Metropolitan Nights palette is now here).

Wet n Wild & Fergie Ferguson Crest Cabernet Perfect Pout Lip Color Review, Swatches, Photos

Next up, I have Wet n Wild / Fergie Perfect Pout Lip Color, which appears to be a new lipstick formula.  In the tube, it looks similar to the Mega Last lip colors, but the texture is completely different – it has a more translucent look (though it is very pigmented), and is glossy.

I don’t like the packaging – it looks cheap, and since the bullet doesn’t retract all the way into the tube, if you aren’t extra-careful, you can easily nick it when putting the cap back on.

mislabeled! It’s actually Ferguson Crest Cabernet.

I purchased the shade Ferguson Crest Cabernet, (which was mislabeled D-Vinely Chilled; the labels were actually switched!), which is a purple toned berry. All of my swatches came out more pink than the lipstick actually is; I find purples really hard to photograph! The lip swatches are more accurate than the arm swatch.

I really like the texture of the Perfect Pout lipstick I tried – it was weightless and comfortable.   I love the color and finish too! When I wiped off the swatch, I noticed that my lips were stained, so I took a picture of that as well.

I wore this out to dinner last night, and it lasted very well – it wore off over a large meal, but left the type of stain you see above.  I reapplied at the end of the meal, and then it lasted until the end of the night – about four hours. I think it could have lasted six.

Overall, I absolutely love this lipstick – it is comfortable to wear, the color is flattering, I love the finish, and it’s long lasting. I’m going to go back and buy more shades!
