I decided to start a new series, Weekly Loves. I’ll be (hopefully!) posting it every week on Sunday so I can discuss my loves / favorites from the week. I’ll use the following four prompts to structure the post:
- A newly purchased product I am loving;
- A long-time or rediscovered favorite I am loving;
- My most-wanted wishlist item; and
- A blog post I especially enjoyed reading.
Let’s get started –
A newly purchased product I am loving
I really love thermal nail polish right now, and Polished by KPT makes my favorites ones. The newest addition to my thermal polish family Harvest Moon, which is especially great because it’s work appropriate – nude/beige when warm & orange when cold (and holo, too!).
The one complaint I have is that it seems like the thermal pigment isn’t fully mixed into the base – it’s a little bit gritty (though nothing a single coat of topcoat can’t fix), and at certain temperatures, the transition from nude to orange is sort of grainy – a problem that none of my other Polished by KPT Thermals share. However, given that I love both the warm & cool colors and the holo finish, I would still recommend this! Here’s a collage from Instagram that shows the color change but doesn’t show the holo sparkle. Sorry about the dry cuticles – I didn’t realize they looked so bad until I saw the photo on my computer!
A long-time or rediscovered favorite I am loving

Tarina Tarantino Queen Alice Conditioning Lip Sheen
I have three of the Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheens (aka lipsticks), all purchased when TT was 40% off at Sephora, and I LOVE THEM. They have one of my very, very favorite lipstick formulas – creamy enough to glide on easily, hug the lips enough that they don’t feel too slippy, moisturizing, reasonably long wearing, and very flattering even when my lips are dry and/or flaky. Queen Alice is a fantastic my lips but better shade, and I have been loving it lately. Although TT is no longer sold at Sephora, it’s still accessible online at tarinatarantino.com (North America only) & blush.com (free shipping! US only).
My most-wanted wishlist item

BB Couture Captain Kidd, photo by Kelly of Vampy Varnish (used with permission)
I love the whole BB Couture The Pirates For Men collection, swatched here by Kelly of Vampy Varnish, but Captain Kidd is especially awesome – a great neutral with a twist that I could wear to work.
A blog post I especially enjoyed reading
I loved Mimi of MakeupWithdrawal’s post on her full face base routine. I always do concealer after foundation, but this post makes me want to try it the other way around sometime soon!
