Caribbean Cove // Balinese Bay // Moroccan Oasis // Lana’i Lagoon // Mayan Riviera // Brazilian Beach
I apologize for the lack of posts over the past few days – I’ve been swamped at work. I’m hoping to get back to posting every day soon. Today I have quick nail wheel swatches of Revlon’s newest limited edition polish collection, the Haute Rocks polishes, which are supposed to have a “pebbled” texture “inspired by exotic pebbled beaches.”
Quick review: I don’t like these alone (though you might), and I don’t like the “pebbled” texture (though I generally love textures). However, I really love them layered with topcoat added. I bought six of the eight available shades, and have bottle shots of the two I didn’t buy:
Tahitian Coast
Seychelles Sand
(my nail polish is Hare Polish Twilight Savings)
On to the swatches!

The above is one dabbed coat plus one regular coat. They’re textured all right, but sort of lumpy looking. I found that the lumpy look persisted with topcoat, but perhaps I just needed more coats.
I’m not sure if you can tell, but while all of them are densely glittered, Brazilian Beach (the gold) and Mayan Riviera (the green) are a little less dense than the others. Lana’i Lagoon (the blue) had a thinner formula than the rest – though all were quite thin/fluid and easy to apply. I tried adding matte topcoat (since the display suggests it) but it didn’t change the look – these are in a matte base.
These really shine layered. Here they are over creme polishes, and I’m sure they’d work beautifully in jelly sandwiches. These swatches are in the opposite order, sorry!

The above is the creme polish, one very thin coat of the Revlon Haute Rocks polish, and one coat of topcoat.

Same swatches, but I added matte topcoat. Pretty!
Will you be looking out for these?
