L’oreal Gilded Envy Infallible Review, Swatches, Comparison

Purchased – Affiliate Links

L’oreal recently released six new & permanent Infallible eyeshadows ($7.99 at drugstore.com). The Infallibles are one of my favorite drugstore eyeshadows, and I purchased one of the shades, Gilded Envy as soon as I found it.

Gilded Envy is a really lovely color, sort of a pewter/olive/gold – hard to describe! It has a metallic, sparkling finish with larger particles of glitter than most other Infallible eyeshadows I own (all Infallible reviews are here). I originally thought it might be similar to my favorite Infallible, Gleaming Bronze (limited edition from Summer 2012), but it’s quite different in both color and finish.

I actually haven’t worn Gilded Envy yet, but I generally get excellent wear (with or without primer) from the Infallibles, and expect the same from Gilded Envy! I’ll definitely be wearing it on my next night out.

It is gorgeous on. It is, however, a dead-on dupe for Electrifying Sparkle in the parent company’s LancĂ´me brand. Good news if you love the LancĂ´me’s but don’t want to spend $24.50 on a single eyeshadow. All six of the new ones are dupes of the LancĂ´me line. If I knew they were going to do that I could have saved over $40!!
