Jordana Balm Stain Swatches, Review, Comparison

Happy Black Friday! Have you bought anything today? Last year, the -->Jordana website --> did a 50% off everything sale for Cyber Monday.  I don’t know if they are going to do it again this year, but just in case they do I thought it would be a good time to share some swatches of the new (-ish) Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains that have been sitting on my computer for a while.

There are -->eight shades available -->, and I bought four of them: Nude Chic, Honey Love, Cranberry Crush, and Rock N Rouge.  Nude Chic has silver glitter, and the other three have no shimmer or sparkle.

As you can tell from the name, these are twist-up pencils; no need to sharpen. Like the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains, they are quite pigmented with a slightly glossy finish; unlike the Revlons, they don’t leave a bright, long-lasting, somewhat artificial stain after wearing off.  They do fade evenly, much like the similarly packaged Tarte Lipsurgence pencils.  I’ve read that other people find the Jordana pencils very moisturizing, but I find them neither moisturizing nor drying.

Jordana Nude Chic Honey Love Cranberry Crush Rock N Rouge Balm Stain Swatches

Nude Chic // Honey Love // Cranberry Crush // Rock N Rouge

Rock N Rouge

I don’t have lip swatches of the other three (sorry about that – I find lip swatches so much more helpful than arm swatches) – but at least the one swatch shows you the opacity and how it sits on the lips.

I also have color comparisons to the Revlon balm stains.

Jordana Rock N Rouge // Revlon Romantic

Jordana Rock N Rouge is a cool red; Revlon Romantic is a warm red. They look distinctly different applied as well. I also own Revlon Adore, but it’s a very different – much warmer and more of a browned/brick red.

Revlon Crush // Jordana Cranberry Crush // Revlon Smitten

Jordana Cranberry Crush is somewhere between Revlon Crush (browner, darker) and Revlon Smitten (brighter, pinker).  I’ve swiped these swatches with a fingertip to take off some of the shine and show the true color better – they look more similar when they’re at full strength and glossier.

I couldn’t find my Revlon Honey, but I believe it’s in between the colors of Jordana Nude Chic and Honey Love.  The Jordana and Revlon bright pinks also appear similar, but as I don’t own any of them except Smitten, I couldn’t say exactly how they compare.
