Revlon Standout Matte Balm
A while back, I reviewed Revon’s matte balm ($8.99 at Ulta) in the shade Shameless. I was not a fan; I found that it was somewhat patchy and accentuated dry patches. However, after reading several positive reviews of the matte balms, some of which acknowledged Shameless as poorly performing as compared to the other shades, I decided to try one more shade – and I’m glad I did! Good morning! Today I have quick reviews & swatches of five of my favorite mlbb (my lips but better) / neutral / natural lipsticks & glosses. These aren’t what I’d call nude lipsticks – I think of those as paler than my natural lip tone – but rather rosy, natural colors. I tend to wear this type of lip color to work, and all five of these are frequently used.

Lip Tars, as you are probably aware, are an intensely pigmented liquid lipstick. I find that they work best when I apply the thinnest layer possible. I don’t generally experience bleeding with lip tars, but if you do, a clear lip liner or lip primer will help. Continue reading

Revlon Gucci Westman lipsticks
I’m a big fan of Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipsticks – I’ve tried & like the cremes, the mattes, and the shine formulas. All my Super Lustrous lipstick reviews are here. So, when I saw this , my eyes went right to the lipsticks, and I was not disappointed. The four available shades are Brazilian Tan (brown/nude, creme finish), Ipanema Beach (appears to be a light ivory, pearl finish), Sultry Samba (hot pink, matte finish) and Carnival Spirit (orange, shine finish). I recently posted about MAC’s limited edition (and no longer available) Huggable Lipsticks in my Weekly Loves post.
