eyeliner overload!

I’ve done black eyeliner swatches before, and even did a post with a wear test way back when my blog was new, but I have different eyeliners now and I wanted to see how they compared.

Instead of trying to keep track of which swatch was which, I wrote an abbreviation for the brand on my arm. The follow table has the abbreviation, name of the eyeliner, and type of eyeliner. Continue reading

Prestige Hocus Pocus, Spellbound Total Intensity Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeshadow: Hocus Pocus, Spellbound

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeshadow: Hocus Pocus, Spellbound

As regular readers of Project Swatch know, I am a huge, huge fan of Prestige’s Total Intensity Eyeliners (eight shades swatched here) – they’re my go-to eyeliners.  So, several months ago, I was excited to see a display at Ulta with more Total Intensity products: liquid eyeliners and eyeshadows. I purchased two eyeshadows, but hadn’t managed to review them yet.

Yesterday, at Rite Aid, I found this display:

It has the two newest shades of Total Intensity Eyeliner (Outrageous Emerald and Totally Turquoise), plus the black and brown shades. It also has five shades of liquid eyeliner (on the left), six eyeshadows (plus an eyeshadow tester), and a mascara.  Since the display is probably going to show up all over, I thought it was high time I reviewed my eyeshadows!

I have a quick in-store swatch of the eyeshadow tester, which is the shade Addiction. It’s a purple with a slight gray color shift (all the Total Intensity eyeshadows are duochrome to some extent).

For reference, here’s the Ulta display:

And, on to the better photos and swatches! Spellbound is a peachy pink with a gold duochrome, and Hocus Pocus is a rich brown with a strong green duochrome.  Neither color is unique – but both are done exceptionally well, especially for a drugstore brand.

Both eyeshadows are buttery smooth and VERY pigmented – as always, my swatches are done without primer.   They are really excellent quality, and I’m interested in buying more from the Prestige Total Intensity range!

If you’d like to buy these eyeshadows online, they’re available on -->Prestige’s website --> (which appears to have free shipping) and -->Ulta online --> (which has BOGO half off this week).

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner Swatches – Eight Shades

Eight Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners

Eight Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners – black one has been used quite a bit!

Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners are my absolute favorite eyeliners.  I’ve owned Deepest Black and Fierce Blue for a while, and recently bought Intense Olive.  Right now, Rite Aide has a good sale on Prestige products, so I decided to pick up the final three of the collection – Bold Brown, Daring Green, and Powerful Purple for about $4 each – a total steal.

Edited: Thanks to a commenter, I realized there were two more shades –  Strong Slate and Fearless Teal I didn’t know about.  Rite Aide doesn’t carry them, but some other stores do.  I bought them and added swatches below! Per the -->Prestige website -->, this is all of them, at last!

Edited again: Prestige has released two more shades, Outrageous Emerald and Totally Turquoise. I haven’t decided whether to buy and swatch them yet!

As I said in my Intense Olive review, there are two things I really love about the Total Intensity eyeliner range: the intense pigmentation and the amazing lasting power.  The three pencils I’ve owned for while don’t smudge or migrate on me and they last all day – I haven’t tested the three new ones, but the texture seems identical.

The pigmentation of all six eight is fantastic, and the texture is lovely.   As you can see, the black and brown are matte, while the green, blue, olive, and purple are shimmery.

In the swatches below, the thin line is one swipe so you can see the pigmentation, and the larger patch is to better show the color. Click to enlarge.

The only downside to these liners is that they are very soft, and thus require frequent sharpening.  You do lose some product because of this, but at around $5.50, I don’t mind – they’re still cheaper than even most other drugstore eyeliners.  I find that both Urban Decay grindhouse or its Essence dupe do a great job sharpening them.

I also want to show you this picture again, from my black eyeliner comparison post.   If you want the blackest eyeliner, Prestige is it – it’s even darker than Urban Decay Perversion or its dupe Milani Liquif’eye.

I know I write about these pencils a lot – I just love them so! Have you tried them? What do you think of them?

Prestige Total Intensity Intense Olive Eyeliner Review & Swatches

I love Prestige’s Total Intensity eyeliners.  Deepest Black is a staple – it’s the darkest black pencil I own  – and I also love Fierce Blue.  I recently bought a third, Intense Olive – and I might love it even more than the first two.

There are two things I really love about the Total Intensity eyeliner range; the intense pigmentation and the amazing lasting power.  Intense Olive definitely does not disappoint in the pigmentation department; it’s crazy-pigmented in just one swipe.  I also found that Intense Olive lasted very well on  my eyes (I tested it on my lower lash line), but the swatch was much easier to remove from my arm than the other two shades of the Prestige Total Intensity pencils – perhaps because it doesn’t have a black base.

Prestige Intense Olive – with flash

Prestige Intense Olive – natural light

I would describe the color as a true olive with a slightly metallic finish.  The color is quite similar to Laura Mercier Black Gold (recently reviewed), but more intense and pigmented.  Black Gold smudged and migrated on me (and I’m not alone!), but Prestige Intense Olive stays put.

I’ve also swatched all three of the Prestige Total Intensity pencils I own together:

I absolutely recommend the Prestige Total Intensity eyeliner range. Fabulous, inexpensive eyeliners!
