Spotted: Tons of New Drugstore Makeup

I went to CVS and Rite Aid this morning, and found a ton of new items, both permanent and limited edition.

The names of the rectangular powder blushes from front to back are:

  • Racy Rose
  • Classy Coral
  • Naughty Nude
  • Oh Baby! Pink
  • Haute Pink
  • Mauvelous
  • Wine Not

I think all seven of them are matte.  Here are the striped blushes – some stripes have shimmer.

Revlon Solar Effects display at Rite Aid

They’re called “solar” because they’re sparkly, as far as I can tell – no color changing effect. The display also has some matte & shiny duos mixed in.

There were testers for both of these, so store-lighting swatches!

I am intrigued by these line fillers – I bet they are similar to pore fillers, just marketed differently.

I’m not sure if the Sugar Shimmer polishes are new (maybe some of them are?) or whether the Reverse French nail strips are new. The Satin Glam polishes are new, though!

I also found a Covergirl TruMagic display at Rite Aid & decided to buy the bronzer shade.  I forgot to photograph it, so this is an Instagram of a photo I took at Walgreens a week or so ago.

Milani recently released a new collection of four limited edition rose shaped blushes, the “Coming Up Roses” collection.  There are four colors available, and I purchased two of them: Flora Passion, a matte pinky-coral, and Warm Petals, a slightly shimmery orangey nude.

Milani’s permanent blush line (the baked blushes) are very pigmented and beautiful colors but are too shimmery for my preferences, so I had high hopes for the Coming Up Roses blushes.  Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by these.

Maybelline Holographic Effect Polishes – Spotted at CVS

Yesterday, I spotted a display with five new Maybelline Color Show polishes – called the Holographic collection (now available online). Unfortunately, it turns out that they aren’t holo – or even meant to be holo! There is a description of the collection on Maybelline Canada’s website, and it says that they “shift from shade to shade depending on the angle” – that is, they’re meant to be duochrome (they are not very strong duochromes, though).  If you’re not familiar with the difference between holo and duochrome polishes, Nihrida has a -->guide to nail polish finishes -->.

However, as disappointing as this collection is, I still have information about all the shades & swatches of two of them.

NYC Sweet Splash Gloss Sticks Review & Swatches

 As promised, here is my review of NYC’s Sweet Splash Gloss Sticks! These are from the Rooftop Party display and they are a new product.  According to NYC’s facebook page, they are limited edition. They were $3.99 each at my CVS.

Spotted: Wet n Wild Baked Eyeshadow Palettes (Holiday 2011 Repromote)

Wet n Wild Baked Eyeshadow Display

Earlier today, I spotted this display at Walgreens. It has two different baked eyeshadow palettes (each comes with a Megawear mascara), and two sets that consist of a Megalast nail polish, Megashield lipstick, and a clear gloss – all permanent products.

However, upon a closer look, it turns out that these eyeshadow palettes aren’t new – they’re repromotes from the Holiday 2011 collection, Bake Off Contest.
