I have heard many, many good things about Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadows, and last week I decided to buy three to check them out for myself. I purchased three eyeshadows: Abyssinian Catbird, Solstice Halcyon, and Bohemian Waxwing. I have a review/swatches of Abyssinian Catbird today, and will have swatches of the other two up soon!

RBR eyeshadows are known for having a really fantastic texture, and I completely agree – all three are very soft, smooth, and pigmented. The colors are complex and lovely, and look just as good on the eye as they do swatched.

For some reason, even though Abyssinian Catbird is described as “metallic bronze with golden highlights” – I expected an olive/green tinge – but it doesn’t have one. It’s a true bronze with a high shimmer/sheen. Below are swatches in natural light and in full sun.

And, here is a comparison of Abyssinian Catbird with the three most similar eyeshadows I own: Urban Decay Smog, Inglot 433 Pearl, and L’Oreal Gleaming Bronze.

As you can see, Smog is the brown-toned; Inglot 433P is more golden, and Gleaming Bronze has more green. Two of my favorite and most worn eyeshadows of all time are Smog and Gleaming Bronze, so I’m thrilled to have another eyeshadow that’s in the same color family, but not identical.

You can buy Rouge Bunny Rouge fromBeautyHabit (US only) or Zuneta (worldwide). BeautyHabit is a little less expensive, so if you’re in the US I recommend them – they also have fantastic customer service and include lots of free samples!
