I recently posted about MAC’s limited edition (and no longer available) Huggable Lipsticks in my Weekly Loves post. As that post states, I I try to stay away from the MAC limited-edition hype, but I was very intrigued by the sound of the Huggable lipsticks. I first bought Out For Passion, and I loved it so much that I also bought Rusty.
My favorite thing about these lipsticks is that they do really “hug” the lips. They tug just a little when applied (though not in an uncomfortable manner), and they’re not slippery at all. This means that they transfer less than most other glossy lipsticks, which I appreciate.
Rusty is a brown-red and Out For Passion is a very natural looking pink-coral. Usually reds are my favorite, but my surprising favorite here is actually Out For Passion; it’s just so easy to wear. The Huggable lipsticks have a slightly glossy (but not high-shine) finish that I find very flattering and again, easy to wear.
I don’t find the Huggable lipsticks particularly long- or short-wearing; they’re about average. They’re not particularly hydrating, but not drying either. They have the signature MAC vanilla scent and no taste.
Overall, I really love these. The packaging is sleek and just my style; I like the colors I picked; I love the slightly glossy finish and the texture. These are a big win, and I hope MAC re-releases them (with more shades, please!) soon.
