Sephora’s 100 point perks range from very mediocre (or down right bad) to excellent, and my favorite ones are when they offer miniature color cosmetics – especially when those items are ones that I had contemplated purchasing!
I’ve heard good things about Givenchy’s new Le Rouge lipstick line, so I was very happy to see a mini version of the shade 103 Brun Createur offered as an 100 point perk (though I admit I was a little sad that the mini version did not have the leather case that the full size version does). This perk is sold out online at the moment, though it’s possible that it will come back, but I saw it in-store just a few days ago, so if you’re shopping Sephora’s Chic Week sale, you’re likely to encounter it – so I think it’s worth swatching!
As you can see, it’s packaged really nicely; it comes in a little box and wrapped in Le Rouge tissue paper. I appreciated this kind of detail, it made it more fun to open.
The lipstick itself is creamy and smooth. It is supposed to have intense color and a semi-matte finish, and it delivers; it’s fully opaque in one swipe and I would describe the finish as satin or semi-matte.
The lip swatch is more color-accurate – it looks a little too bright in the arm swatch, but the arm swatch shows the saturation of the pigment very well. Brun Createur is described by Sephora as a dusty rose, and I think that’s accurate. It wil be a my-lips-but-better shade on some; it just depends on your natural lip pigmentation.
I have not tested this for wear time yet, and won’t have the opportunity to this week (I’m traveling and don’t have it with me) – but, given that it’s a perk this week, I wanted to get this swatch up quickly!
Overall, this is a really lovely lipstick – it feels nice on the lips and is richly saturated. If you have point to redeem and are interested in the shade, this is defining worth it!
