Dior has recently released a new product, the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks (is it just me or is that a really terrible name?). They’re advertised having “the high-impact colour and long wear of a lipstick, combined with the shine of a gloss.” Texturewise, they remind me of the Maybelline Color Elixirs (reviewed) and L’oreal Extraordinares (reviewed), which are both supposed to be gloss-balm-liquid lipstick hybrid. The packaging of the Fluid Sticks is somewhat reminiscent of the Maybellines as well; both have a lipstick-shaped cavity for the product, and if you weren’t paying attention, you might mistake the product for a traditional lipstick with a clear lid.
For an overview of the Fluid Stick formula, check out this post by Kate over at Drivel About Frivol. As she says, the Fluid Sticks are comfortable to wear, flattering, and overall a lovely product. However, I don’t find them to be unique or special enough to justify the price, personally – I’m happy with the drugstore versions. I don’t regret buying this one, but I don’t plan to buy more either.
I am having a difficult time describing the color of Vie d’Enfer. On the lip, I find it to be a brick(ish) red, but it seems to photograph as more of a cherry red. How would you describe it? Any way you describe it, it’s a great color and I love it!
